Bio

Arielle Isaac Norman is a politically non-binary lesbian whose quick wit, dark humor, and satire cut right through the bullsh*t and get to the core of social, political, and gender issues. She is a nationally touring headliner and has also opened for Louie C.K., Maria Bamford, and Tim Dillon.

Full of risky nuance, her 2024 debut special Ellen DeGenderless candidly explores all the hot button gender issues (pronouns, restrooms, sports, transition treatments, and detransition) as well as the cancellation of words. A native Texan and a gay, genderfluid Mormon, Arielle doesn’t fit in a box and doesn’t think most people really do.

Arielle was the first person from the Austin comedy scene invited to be a guest panelist on the Kill Tony show. She is a regular at Moontower, Skankfest and SXSW and has performed at numerous other comedy festivals, including the prestigious Limestone and Laughing Skull festivals. Arielle was a finalist in the Funniest Person in Austin contest in both 2018 and 2019 and was a headliner of the Boulder Comedy Festival in 2023.

Testimonals:

“I think she’d doing something completely unique with her comedy. So many people who are part of this culture war are either too earnest, full of rage and contempt, or overly cheezy (for lack of a better word). I found her standup to be really surprising and thought-provoking (not to mention gut-bustingly funny with just the right amount of tension).” - Sasha Ayad, LPC, author of When Kids Say They’re Trans

“Arielle plays with gender the way a cat toys with its prey.” - Aly Tadros, writer and musician

“The Wario version of Ellen” - JT Kelley, comedian

“I showed this joke to my English professor, and she gave me bonus points.” - some chick on Tik Tok

Arielle’s Podcasts:

Politically Non-binary: If comedian Arielle Isaac Norman identifies as anything, it's as politically non-binary. In these polarized times, many people don’t like having conversations with people with whom they disagree, but politically androgynous and fluid Arielle is always game. Guests come onto the podcast to “confess” at least one controversial opinion, and Arielle is both empathetic and a devil’s advocate, so they flesh out the ideas and evolve them together. Future guests can respond to the episode if they feel Arielle and the guest got things wrong or missed some points. Or new guests can come on with brand new topics. Subscribe on YouTube, Apple, Spotify, or wherever you like.

Former Projects:

Gender Fluids, hosted by Arielle and Ava Smartt, took an explicit look at gender, sexuality, and kink. It was been picked up by the WhoHaha network, and in both 2018 and 2019 it was a finalist for the Austin Chronicle’s best local podcast. The podcast ran from 2017-2023.

Leading the Blind, with Brett VerVoort and Arielle, asking comics who have accomplished some level of “career success” for advice and insight. Check it out on iTunes.  Or on Stitcher. Or on Player Fm if that's your thing. Or straight from our producer's website.
